Thank you for quoting me, but I still don’t see how that proves your point. I am also working off of facts. Again, I’ll cite this article that one of the players wrote to speak on his own position. The only reason I am speaking to the players’ intent is that they have already done so.
So, in fact, that is NOT what I have claimed. My claim is that these players have clearly spoken out about the fact that their kneeling is not directed at the flag or the National Anthem.
And I completely agree with you that if you just look at this one article, you would say that I am a liberal. I’ve written many other things than this one article, but I completely understand if you do not have the time to go back and read them all. I’m just pointing out that it is impossible to have a full view of a person based off of one article. All I was asking is that you not label me since your only interaction with me is this one article.
I think you are right about attempting to keep emotion out of these discussions. I thank you for engaging me in dialogue here without resorting to namecalling (though I’m not sure how I should react to being called a hotrod) ;).
I am coming at this from the assumption that all of us are trying to work together to help our communities be the best they can be. I believe you want the same thing. Again, I thank you for sharing your voice. I think this has been a good discussion.
