I will acknowledge that my view on this particular issue is certainly more liberal. And I have no qualms about standing up for who I am and for people seeing me for who I am. But you do not know me, and you think from one article I’ve written you can completely define me. I was simply pushing back against that. There are many other issues (including abortion) where I would write decidedly conservative-leaning articles.
Also, I’m not saying that I speak for all the players who are kneeling. In fact, I’m not trying to speak for ANY of them. I would never assume to know what they are thinking. The thing is — I don’t have to try to know what they are thinking. They have told us. I am simply pointing out that most have spoken for themselves and they have said that they are in fact NOT kneeling to disrespect the flag. I guess I would just ask that you actually look at what these players have said.
I could ask you the same question you ask of me. How do you know what Colin Kaepernick is thinking? You say he knelt out of spite for losing his job. How do you know that? Where do you come to that conclusion?
