Thank you for reading and for adding your voice. I think there is a great deal of truth to what you say here. I’ve seen quite a few people remark — “Just let me have my football! I don’t watch for political discussion.”

The problem with that line of thinking is that, even having the opportunity to make that choice of pushing out these tough issues to watch football shows the privilege that some of us have. There are others who are faced with these issues every day. They don’t have the choice to simply flip the channel.

In my mind, that means those of us with privilege need to speak up and help out. That’s why I think these players are doing the right thing.
